Roundtable Discussion on Managing Contract Labour : Reconciling Stakeholders’ Interest
August 4, 2017, FICCI, New Delhi

Contract Employment has been a complex subject since its inception. While on one hand, it is important to have a floating workforce to execute short duration work or time-bound projects, uncertainty of job and lack of a comprehensive social security cover are cited as the reasons against its desirability. Yet, both the arguments are silenced by the fact that Contract Labour has come to stay.

How to manage Contract Labour properly and without grievances and what are the necessary changes to make it acceptable is a moot question that needs a viable solution.

To discuss the issue at length, the All India Organisation of Employers’ (AIOE) alongwith FICCI is organising a Roundtable Discussion on Managing Contract Labour : Reconciling Stakeholders’ Interest on August 4, 2017 at Federation House, Tansen Marg, New Delhi from 10.00 am onwards. We have invited representatives from industry, Trade Unions and the Government to present their respective views and develop a common perspective on the subject.

Shri Rajit Puhani, DGLW, Ministry of Labour & Employment, has very kindly agreed to chair and moderate the roundtable.

You are requested to kindly nominate 2-3 participants from your organisation to attend the workshop and benefit by the deliberations. The participation fee is Rs. 1,000/- per participant. You may kindly send us the nomination in the enclosed proforma alongwith the participation fee no later than July 29, 2017.
